Helping to bring home america's missing loved ones

Minutes save lives. We save minutes.

NO COST TO FAMILIES

What is ID Me 911?

ID Me 911 was created to save lives, bring home America’s missing loved ones, and help you be your family’s hero by keeping them safe.

ID Me 911 can help to keep your loved ones safe while offering peace of mind.  We provide families the opportunity to enroll their loved ones in our Network, especially those loved ones who are in a vulnerable population or have a tendency to wander from their home.

When police are called to investigate a missing person case, they can send INSTANT missing person notifications to everyone in their agency, surrounding agencies, and community members in their jurisdictions.

It is not uncommon for police officers to encounter someone who is lost or has wandered from their home but has difficulty speaking with them due to a cognitive disability.  They can search the network utilizing limited information they do have and then they can quickly return the person to their family.

ID Me 911 is changing the way police agencies across the country conduct missing person investigations, making communication with communities easier.

missing person notifications

When police are called to investigate a missing person case, they can send INSTANT missing person notifications to everyone in their agency, surrounding agencies, and community members in their jurisdictions.   These notifications contain important physical descriptors as well as a photograph and helps to streamline the communication and notification process.

Vulnerable Populations

Enrollment in the Network provides a secure, cloud-based location to maintain and update important information, physical descriptors, and a photo of your loved one.  In the event a loved one needs to be reported missing, this information can be accurately and efficiently shared with responding police officers.  This saves time and reduces the chances of inadvertently sharing inaccurate information due to the stress and chaos of the situation.

Cognitive Impairments

It is not uncommon for police officers to encounter someone who is lost or has wandered from their home but has difficulty speaking with them due to a cognitive impairment.  They can search the Network utilizing limited information they do have like a first name or home town.  Once the person’s profile is located, they can quickly return the person to their family.

Community Familiarization

Police agencies can review new Network entries to familiarize themselves with community members who have a tendency to wander from their home.  This can help facilitate a much quicker return home if they are recognized by an officer after they have wandered.

How it Started

In February 2014, Founder and CEO, Steve MacNeal, was working as a police officer in a rural community in Wayne County, New York.  He was dispatched to a small, frozen creek for the report of a child “trapped” on the ice.  Upon arrival, he learned the child was not trapped on the ice, however, he was playing on the frozen creek bed placing himself in a dangerous situation.

The child displayed characteristics commonly found on the Autism Spectrum. The lights and sirens of the responding ambulances and firetrucks caused the child to have a difficult time communicating about his name, where he lived, or his parents’ names. Fortunately, after some delay, First Responders were able to locate the child’s parents and return him to his family uninjured.

As a result of this incident, Steve recognized the need for a program that not only allows family members to enroll their loved ones in our Network that is searchable by Law Enforcement when they encounter individuals like this young man, but one that also has the ability to quickly and efficiently allow Law Enforcement to send mass notifications when they are looking for a missing person.

ID Me 911 is now available to everyone for FREE.

You can create a profile for your loved one for FREE, regardless of your local police department’s participation in the program, however, they will not have access to the Network or the ability to send missing person notifications unless they have enrolled.

Please contact your local police department or municipality and ask them to partner with ID Me 911 to keep your loved ones safe.
